Policies & Safety

Just Compete Sports is committed to providing a safe, positive, and respectful environment for athletes, families, coaches, officials, volunteers, and spectators. Use the resources below for current policies, conduct expectations, waivers, and safety information.
Code of Conduct
Use the current Just Compete Sports Code of Conduct as the master conduct policy. It covers coach conduct, player conduct, parent/guardian and spectator expectations, prohibited behavior, reporting concerns, discipline, suspensions, removals, and appeals.
Participation Waiver, Release & Consent
Use the current Participation Waiver, Release, and Consent Agreement for assumption of risk, liability release, media consent, parent/guardian consent, and related registration acknowledgments.
Refund Policy
The current refund policy explains when refunds are not issued, when medical-related refunds may be considered, how to submit a request, falsifying registration information, and excusable delays or force majeure. It also confirms that team, coach, friend, or teammate requests are not guaranteed and that an unmet request does not qualify for a refund.

Non-Discrimination & Inclusion Policy
Just Compete Sports is committed to providing a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment for athletes, families, coaches, officials, volunteers, and supporters. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or unequal treatment based on race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion, disability, socioeconomic status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
Girls Play Flag Football
Girls Play Flag Football is specifically designed to provide dedicated flag football opportunities for girls. Athletes who are looking for coed flag football opportunities may explore Just Compete’s NFL FLAG programs where available.
All participants, coaches, volunteers, parents, guardians, and spectators are expected to support a respectful and inclusive environment and follow the Just Compete Sports Code of Conduct. Discrimination, harassment, bullying, or other behavior that conflicts with these expectations may result in disciplinary action.
Anyone who experiences or witnesses discriminatory behavior is encouraged to report the concern to Just Compete Sports so it can be reviewed and addressed appropriately.
Our goal is simple: every athlete should feel safe, respected, supported, and welcome in our programs.
Review Note: Because this policy addresses nondiscrimination and program eligibility, the final published version should receive legal or risk-management review before launch.
Safety Resources
Keep safety resources separate from the Code of Conduct rather than creating a duplicate “Safety & Conduct Policy.” Add or link the current resources for:
Concussion & Injury Management Policy —Concussion and Injury Management Policy - Just Compete Sports Weather Policy — View Weather Policy
Heat & Environmental Safety
Just Compete uses the same heat and environmental-safety guidance across Kansas and Colorado programs unless a local facility, governing body, or event has a stricter requirement. The KSHSAA materials below are useful reference standards for heat, hydration, lightning, cold weather, wind chill, and air quality. They should be presented on the website as safety resources, not as Colorado governing rules.
KSHSAA Recommended Heat Policy (WBGT) — View Heat Policy
KSHSAA Environmental Safety Information — View Environmental Safety ResourcesInjury & Emergency Response — Covered in the Concussion & Injury Management Policy above.
Background Screening for Coaches & Volunteers
Just Compete Sports uses Checkr to conduct required background checks for coaches and volunteers before they are approved to serve in applicable roles. Screening requirements, review criteria, and any follow-up steps are handled through Just Compete Sports and may vary by role, program, or legal requirement.

Status Note
A separate standalone Safety Policy has not yet been identified in the current website content set. The safety section should remain a resource area until the organization finalizes any additional formal safety policies.
